Every student who attends college is assigned an advisor. Your advisor is responsible for helping you select classes to meet your degree requirements. You should have received the name and contact information for your advisor when you received your acceptance letter. If not, call the Admissions office and request this information.

Call your advisor and introduce yourself. Set up a time to meet with him or her to talk about your placement scores and the classes you need to take in order to complete your program.

Two things to remember about your advisor:

  • You should always talk with an advisor before you register for classes.
  • If you are not happy with your advisor, you can always change him or her.
